Day 1: Marrakech » Ait Ben Haddou » Ouarzazate » Dades Gorges [330 km]

We will commence our journey towards Ouarzazate, leaving Marrakech behind to go on an unforgettable experience. En route, we will traverse the stunning landscapes of the High Atlas through the incredible Tizi n’Tichka pass, standing at an altitude of 2,260 meters.

Midway, we will reach the Ait Ben Haddou Kasbah, one of Morocco most beautiful and fascinating places. The remarkable fortified village of Ait Ben Haddou has been designated a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1987. This location has served as the backdrop for various series and movies, including Lawrence of Arabia, The Mummy, Gladiator, Game of Thrones, and Alexander the Great, among others.

Continuing our journey, we will arrive to Ouarzazate, where we will visit the Taourirt Kasbah, the former residence of one of the region’s most powerful governors, also declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

Taking the Road of a Thousand Kasbahs to Skoura, we will cross the Rose Valley before finally reaching the Dades Gorges, where we will spend the night (occasionally staying in Skoura).

Day 2: Dades Gorges » Todra Gorge » Merzouga Desert [265 km]

After breakfast, we will continue our journey towards the Dades Valley, crossing the incredible Todra Gorges to explore and enjoy the marvelous landscape of this valley. Continuing the route towards Merzouga, we will pass through the Jorf Palm Grove, known for producing the best dates. We will have lunch before reaching Erfoud, a small village famous for fossil fragments.

After lunch, we will head directly to Merzouga, where we will leave the vehicle to take a 1 hour camel ride into the desert. After the camel ride, we will reach the camp where we will spend the night. There, in the breathtaking landscape of Erg Chebbi desert, we will enjoy a delicious and authentic Moroccan dinner.

Day 3: Merzouga Desert » Nkob » Ouarzazate » Marrakech [553 km]

To start this day, we recommend waking up early to witness the beautiful sunrise in the Erg Chebbi desert. Passing through the Tafilalet Palm Grove and the town of Rissani (origin of the Alaouite dynasty), we will reach Alnif, where we will take the road that crosses the Anti Atlas mountain range. Here, you can enjoy the wonderful mountainous landscapes. We will then arrive at Tazarine (an important Berber village), N’kob, and finally, the Draa Valley with its extraordinary palm grove.
