Day 3: Ouarzazate » Amridil Kasbah » Dades Valley – Todra Gorge » Merzouga Desert [420 km]

Commencing our day 3, the morning unfolds with a hearty breakfast, signaling the continuation of our journey through the Atlas Mountains towards Skoura. Our path leads us to the remarkable Kasbah Amridil, a 17th-century marvel that boasts intricate hand carved door locks, an operational olive oil piston, and ancient baking ovens. This living museum, adorned with the essence of traditional kasbah life, reveals centuries of history. Divided into two sections, the right side preserves an authentic ambiance, complete with a higher balcony.

As we progress, the expedition carries us through the enchanting Valley of Roses to the Valley of Dades and the Todra Gorges. Amidst landscapes adorned with palm trees and vibrant green valleys, we’ll be captivated by the scenic beauty. The adventure then leads us to the dunes of Merzouga, where our night unfolds in carefully chosen accommodations a hotel or riad that promises comfort and an authentic experience

Day 4: Merzouga Sightseeing [60 km]

The fourth day of your 5 days tour from Marrakech to Fes after a hearty breakfast at the hotel. The day unfolds with a visit to the village of black people, originally hailing from Sudan, Mali, and Senegal, offering an insightful exploration into their music and lifestyle. As we traverse the desert, encounters with nomadic families living in Berber tents provide a unique glimpse into their traditional way of life. Enjoy a traditional Berber lunch, including the famed Berber pizza, served in a local family home, enriching your cultural experience.

Venture to the ancient city of Rissani, the foundation of the Alawite dynasty, Morocco current ruling royal family. Surrounded by approximately 360 palaces (fortified villages with numerous towers), Rissani hosts a bustling souk, a four-door open-air market, held three times a week. Previously known as Sijilmassa, this city served as the meeting point for salt caravans arriving from Timbuktu in Mali. Immerse yourself in the lively atmosphere of the souk, exploring its vibrant offerings. Later, return to the village of Merzouga, and in the afternoon, indulge in a camel ride led by an experienced guide. Day 5: Merzouga Desert » Ziz Valley » Azrou » Ifrane » Fes [467 km]

As the sun rises and breakfast is enjoyed, bid farewell to the desert camp. Depart via Erfoud to Errachidia, where a panoramic view unfolds, capturing the beauty of the Ziz valley’s forest. Pause to capture this scenic moment through photographs before continuing towards Midelt, renowned for its apples. Lunch is served along the journey, with villages and small cities dotting the path.
