Day 1: Tangier » Chefchaouen [112 km]

We will pick you up from your chosen location whether that’s your accommodation, the airport, or the port. This captivating city is located where the Mediterranean Sea and the Atlantic Ocean meet at Cape Spartel. Our exploration begins with the attraction of Tangier, followed by a visit to the mysterious Cave of Hercules and the picturesque Cape Spartel.

The lunch period provides an opportunity to taste the local cuisine. Next, we venture inland, heading towards Chefchaouen. On the way, the city of Tetouan and the Rif mountains open before us, adorning us with their beauty.

Day 2: Chefchaouen Sightseeing

Day two of your 13 days Morocco tour from Tangier reveals Chefchaouen, the famous (blue city) nestled in the Rif Mountains. Its blue and white alleys and buildings give a charming atmosphere. 

Explore the authentic Medina with its vibrant blue gates and enjoy free time for lunch. Head to the Spanish Mosque to enjoy a stunning panoramic view. Rest in the same hotel and enjoy the unique charm of the city.

Day 3: Chefchaouen » Volubilis » Meknes » Fes [258 km]

After breakfast, indulge in a fun exploration through the picturesque alleys of Chefchaouen. Our journey then leads to the ancient Roman ruins of Volubilis, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. It´s decorated with attractive mosaics and ancient remains. 

A short drive takes us to Meknes, the imperial jewel, where Bab el-Mansour, the Souani Cistern, the royal stables, and the Mausoleum of Moulay Ismail await us. 

Afterward, we transfer to Fes and rest overnight in a charming riad. This marks the culmination of another day in our 13 days tour from Tangier to Marrakech.

Day 4: Fes Sightseeing with a Local Guide

After breakfast, we take you back to explore Fes. As a major imperial city and the cultural core of Morocco, Fes is brimming with importance. Our first stop is the royal palace gate, the grand opening ceremony. Next, the UNESCO-listed medieval old town unfolds before us, accessible through the famous Blue Gate or Bab Boujloud. 

Guided by a local, we will tour the Medina and discovered the Bou Inaniya Madrasa, the Najjarine Fountain, and the tanneries. The Al-Qarawiyyin Mosque and University, the oldest on Earth hold stories of ancient wisdom. Leaving Medina, we head towards the Jewish quarter (Al Mellah).

Day 5: Fes » Ifrane » Azrou » Ziz valley » Merzouga Desert [477 km]

After breakfast, our 13 day Morocco tour continues from Tangier south via Imouzzer. We will visit the city of Ifrane, often called the (Switzerland) of Morocco. It is known for its alpine architecture and cool climate. Moving on, we reach a cedar forest inhabited by Barbary macaques. 

We continue to Midelt and enjoy a lunch break. Our journey then takes us through the Tizi n Telghamt Pass and along the Ziz Valley with stunning views.

Upon our arrival in the desert of Merzouga, we switch to the camels to cross the sands, and witness the amazing sunset. Blending Bedouin tents with a touch of luxury, the camp offers Berber drumming around a campfire under a starry sky.

Day 6: Merzouga Sightseeing [60 km]

Today, after breakfast at your hotel, we will venture into the world of the dunes of Erg Chebbi and the surrounding city. Our first stop will be to visit the Bedouins of the Sahara Desert, where you will have the honor of sharing tea and conversations in their traditional Berber tents. Afterward, we will immerse ourselves in the rhythmic melodies and cultural richness of Khamliya, a Gnaoua village, and indulge in a lunch full of local flavors.

The afternoon reveals a unique experience as we deposit our car in Merzouga and go on the best camel trek meandering through the stunning Erg Chebbi dunes. On top of the towering dunes, the sun will unfold in all its splendor. 

Your overnight abode will be a comfortable desert tent, providing a comfortable vantage point for stargazing. As the night gets dark, the local Bedouins will entertain you with traditional Berber music under the heavenly expanse, inviting you to join in their rhythmic celebration.

Day 7: Merzouga Sahara » Rissani » Erfoud » Todra Gorges » Dades Gorges [271 km]

Get up early to witness the amazing sunrise, a must-see experience. After an enjoyable breakfast, our journey continues as we bid farewell to the desert and head to Rissani, the historical capital of Tafilalet. Rissani remains a bustling commercial center and is particularly lively on market days (Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Sundays). Stroll through the vibrant market before we head to Erfoud, where you will have the chance to visit a workshop that specializes in petrified marble.

Our path leads us through the picturesque palm groves of Torug and Tengdad to the majestic Todra Gorge. Carved out by the Todra River, these towering red cliffs form a dramatic valley a rock climber’s paradise. Feel free to roam through the valleys, and enjoy the amazing natural beauty. 

Enjoy a delicious lunch at one of the local restaurants before continuing our journey to the Dades Valley, passing through Boumalne Dades. Our final stop offers a captivating view of the Monkey Toes rock formation and a panoramic view of the Dades Valley. End your day with a delicious dinner and a comfortable overnight stay at the hotel.

Day 8: Dades Gorges » Roses Valley » Skoura » Ouarzazate [140 km]

After a delicious breakfast at your riad in Dades, we will move to Makouna Castle to explore the Rose Valley. Famous for its annual Rose Festival in May, which showcases various rose products. 

We continue driving through the Skoura palm groves to visit the Kasbah of Amridelle. Our journey takes us to Ouarzazate, where the famous cinema studios are located, and the Kasbah of Taourirt awaits us. Overnight in Ouarzazate.

Day 9: Ouarzazate » Ait Ben Haddou » Telouet » Marrakech [192 km]

After breakfast, we head to the famous Kasbah of Ait Ben Haddou, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Famous for its appearance in films such as Gladiator and Game of Thrones. We also visit Kasbah Telouet before crossing the High Atlas Mountains and the Tizi-en-Tichka Pass on our way to Marrakesh.

We’ll stop for lunch and photo opportunities along the way. Upon arriving in Marrakesh, we settled into our accommodation, a charming riad, for one night.

Day 10: Marrakech sightseeing with a Local Guide

Have a delicious breakfast at your riad, then a guided tour of Marrakech awaits you. Our itinerary includes visits to Bahia Palace, Menara Gardens, Koutoubia Minaret, Saadian Tombs, Arts and Crafts Museum, and the famous Dar Si Said (Berber) Museum. 

A café break in the central square will recharge our batteries before we explore the vibrant souks of the Medina. The day concludes with a delicious dinner and a relaxing night’s stay in a charming riad.

Day 11: Marrakech » Essaouira [191 km]

After breakfast, we will head west towards the coastal city of Essaouira. On the way, we will stop to see the interesting argan trees with goats, and enjoy the stunning panoramic views. 

Arriving in Essaouira, formerly known as Mogador, we will explore the fishing port, the ancient canyon walls, and the attractive old town. You will spend a night in Essaouira enjoying the unique atmosphere and charm of the city.

Day 12: Essaouira » Casablanca » Rabat[445 km]

On your 13 days Morocco tour from Tangier, we bid farewell to Essaouira and go on a scenic coastal drive, with scenic stops for panoramic views along the way. Then our trip takes you to Casablanca, the economic city of Morocco. 

Here, we will visit the magnificent Hassan II Mosque, the largest mosque in the country, and take a pleasant stroll along the Casablanca Corniche. Enjoy free time for lunch before we continue our journey to Rabat, the capital of Morocco. 

Your overnight stay will be in Rabat, where you can relax and immerse yourself in the city’s rich culture and history.

Day 13: Rabat » Tangier airport [252 km]

On this last day, after your breakfast, we will move to Rabat. The imperial city and current capital of Morocco, which is located in the northwest. Our tour includes the city’s focal points, particularly the impressive Hassan Tower, the majestic Mausoleum of Mohammed V, and the captivating Kasbah of the Udayas. 

You will have free time to enjoy your delicious lunch. Our journey ends when we travel north through Asilah, finally arriving at Tangier Airport. This marks the culmination of our 13 days Morocco desert tour from Tangier and is the last day of the trip.
