Day 1: Arrival in Casablanca » Rabat [87 km]
We will start your trip with a pick-up from Casablanca airport. Our first destination is the fantastic Hassan II Mosque. After this, we will head to Rabat, where you will discover the city gems. The Citadel of the Oudaias, the Mohammed V Mausoleum, and the iconic Hassan Tower. The day concludes with a delicious dinner and a comfortable hotel/riad accommodation in Rabat.
Day 2: Rabat » Meknes » Volubilis » Fes [277 km]
On our way to Meknes, we pass by the Mamora forest. Upon reaching Meknes, a city that flourished under Sultan Mulay Ismail’s rule, we explore its historical significance. Just 27 km away, we will encounter the captivating ruins of the Roman city of Volubilis and the sacred town of Moulay Idriss. Our journey continues to Fes, where we’ll enjoy dinner and spend the night in a riad.
Day 3: Sightseeing Fes with a local guide
On this day, accompanied by a local guide, we will explore Fes. Starting with the ancient medina and its grandeur from the outside, we will visit the Royal Palace with its seven golden gates. From Borj Nord, we will enjoy panoramic views of the city. Entering Pujlod’s main gate, we will explore the historic University of the Villagers, the world’s oldest university.
Our journey continues to the Chouara Tannery, known for its leather production. Afterward, you will have free time to further explore Fes before heading back to your accommodation. Enjoy the wonders of this fantastic city.
Day 4: Fes » Ifran » Azrou » Ziz Valley » Erfoud » Merzouga [463 km]
After breakfast, we will set off for Midelt, journeying through the scenic Middle Atlas mountains and cedar forests. Our route will take us through Ifrane, a picturesque ski resort, and Azrou, renowned for its cedar wood craftsmanship. Crossing the Zad Pass (2178m/7146ft), we will reach Midelt for lunch.
In the afternoon, our route descends toward Erfoud and Errachidia, showcasing the palm tree-dotted beauty of the Ziz Valley. We will continue to the mesmerizing dunes of Erg Chebbi. The day ends with dinner and an overnight stay at a hotel in Merzouga, tailored to your chosen category.
Day 5: Sightseeing Merzouga [80 km]
Sunrise peeking out over the dunes in the Sahara is an experience of a lifetime. Set the alarm early so you won’t miss this spectacle. After an enjoyable morning in the desert, we will take a camel ride back to Merzouga via some Berber villages. Our driver will wait there to take you on a more immersing drive into the desert.
We freshen up and pack necessities for the road, and a 4×4 off-road vehicle is ours to head into the desert. We will meet nomads living in camps, and get to listen to live Gnawa music by the Gnawa tribes on the way. The off-road drive will take us deeper into the desert to Lake Dayte Sarje. See the oasis at the dunes and visit a site of black volcanic rocks.
Then we will stop at Rissani to explore the souks there for the best part of the afternoon. In the evening we will be back in Merzouga where we will stay for the night.
Day 6: Merzouga Desert » Todra Gorges » Dades Gorges [290 km]
Start your day with a picturesque sunrise and a satisfying breakfast in the Merzouga desert. Proceed on your journey towards the captivating Todra Gorges, traversing the scenic Cane Road adorned with numerous kasbahs.
